Each clutch takes 3 springs and they are used to seperate the clutch pressure plate when the engine clutch is released.
When doing clutch repairs or rebuilding a clutch on a two-cylinder tractor always carefully inspect operating springs for fractures, wear, and damage, and replace with the correct parts our springs have the same spring rate 152.100 LBF/IN as the orignal specification.
